On 17 November 2014, the Leiden Law School and the University of Beihang, China signed a Memorandum of Understanding. Prof. Dr. Rick Lawson, Dean of the Leiden Law School and executive-Dean Wang Qiquan signed the MoU to establish a closer cooperation between the Leiden Law School and specifically the International Institute of Air and Space Law (IIASL) and University of Beihang.

On 6 November 2014, the International Institute of Air and Space Law (IIASL) and the Centre for Air and Space Law (CASL) of the Universitas Padjajaran (UNPAD) in Bandung, Indonesia signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
Aviation safety is of global concern. Yet 43% of countries worldwide lack the expertise and administrative capacity to ensure effective safety oversight of the aviation activities for which they are responsible under international law. M.A. Ratajczyk will defend his thesis entitled "Regional Aviation Safety Organisations: Enhancing Air Transport Safety Through Regional Cooperation" on the 20th of November.
