On 26 and 27 March, professor Voermans was in China at the invitation of the Chinese parliament (National People’s Congres: NPC) to give a talk on the various ways countries in the world engage the public in the establishment of delegated legislation. As co-legislator, the NPC is involved in the establishment of parliamentary legislation, but this is not the case in delegated regulations.
The topic of the seminar was ‘the Role of the European Court of Human Rights in Determining the Scope of Human Rights’. It was organised by Prof. Janneke Gerards ( Nijmegen University) and Prof. Eva Brems (Ghent University).
On January 19 and 20 the Institute for Public Law of Leiden University, together with the VU University Amsterdam Centre for Law and Governance, organized an international expert meeting on the allocation of limited authorizations and grants in the European member states.
