Ward Berenschot, project coordinator Jakarta and researcher
Ward Berenschot (1977) studied political science at the University of Amsterdam, where he taught several courses on conflict and violence. He obtained his PhD in 2009 at the University of Amsterdam with a thesis on communcal violence in India, titled "Riot Politics: Communal Violence and State-Society Mediation in Gujarat, India". After working on a comparative research-project on ethnic violence in India and Indonesia, he is currently the project manager for the Access to Justice in Indonesia project at the Van Vollenhoven Institute.
